Amphitheatre Hall 3000
Lowering the water table by deep wells to construct the amphitheatre 3000 of the Cité Internationale in Lyon
Context
Project Type :
Dewatering
Location :
Lyon (69)
Problem
- For the construction of the last section of the Cité Internationale, lowering the water table in a diaphragm wall anchored in molassic sands
- Hydrogeological environment: gravelly alluvial clay – highly permeable
- Area: 3 200 m²
- Height to lower: 20 metres
Solution
- Complete engineering of lowering the water table by deep wells
- Definition and realisation of pumping and reinjection wells
- Complete installation:
- Pumps
- Dewatering network
- Decantation before direct disposal into the Rhône
- Decantation before disposal into the well
- Supervision and technical monitoring of lowering the water table: piezometric surveys, monitoring of heights lowered, recording flow rates
- Remote monitoring of pumping with permanent on-call service
- After the end of draining: cleaning wells by air-lift
- Transfer of pumps into the dewatering pits
- Duration: 24 months
